Mental Health Therapist/ Counseling Associate

Portland, OR

We are seeking early career therapists in Oregon to join our fun and dynamic group practice. We are a small locally-owned business seeking providers who are interested in working with individuals who have difficulties with attention and executive functioning, as well as other mental health conditions such as anxiety, trauma, and depression.

Present openings are for our Downtown Portland (SW 1st and Harrison) location.

Counseling associates (eligible as a professional counselor associate or marriage and family therapist associate with the Oregon Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists), early career, and newly licensed providers are welcome to apply! We provide structured pre and post hire training and support for new providers. We understand that ADHD diagnosis or treatment may not be robustly covered in training programs, and we provide lots of support to help new providers develop this new skill set!

The ideal candidate has strong differential diagnostic and treatment skills, with a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: All behavioral health providers are salaried, with a minimum base salary and performance based raises. The minimum base salary assumes meeting the minimum expectation for weekly average clinical hours. Salaries vary every 2 months, and can increase over the base salary based on performance over the minimum expectation for weekly average clinical hours. Cost of living adjustments are applied to base salary amounts annually.

The minimum salary for counseling associates is presently $53,274 annually, with a probable range of $53,274 - $63,000, depending on clinical activities and performance. The minimum contact hours for associates is 20 hours per week.

The minimum salary for licensed master's level behavioral health providers is currently $58,094 annually, with a probable range of $58,094 -$83,000, depending on clinical activities and performance. The minimum contact hours expectation for licensed master's level providers is 23 hours per week. Some clinical activities are incentivized, and count for more time than the direct client contact time.

Transparency and equality in our compensation are important values to our clinic, and we'd be happy to talk to you further about the details of our compensation model!

In addition to a generous shared-compensation model, benefits include:

  • Flexible scheduling (make your own hours, work 4 or 5 days per week, etc.)
  • Paid vacation - starting at 100 hours (associates) or 160 hours (licensed) and increasing yearly up to 200 hours
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-sponsored IRA, with up to a 3% match
  • Continuing education opportunities, and consultation groups
  • Furnished office in one of our three newly renovated buildings

About Us

What sets us apart from other mental health employers is our commitment to the well-being of our team. We demonstrate this value by providing a rich benefits package beyond what is available at peer organizations, including paid time off and select paid holidays off. We strive to sustain a collaborative, no-hierarchy team environment, where every employee's contribution is respected and valued. All of our behavioral health provider positions are salaried, to provide our staff with income stability and security that may not be present in revenue share based compensation models.

We see clients who present with attention related concerns, and evaluate them to see if they have ADHD or if their attention related concerns are due to another mental health condition. We treat clients with ADHD, as well as a range of other diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders. As we are an outpatient specialty clinic, we currently do not provide services/refer out for the following conditions: psychosis, substance abuse, and eating disorders.

Our clinical staff is comprised of psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, counselors, and social workers, working in three locations across Portland. We offer the flexibility of a private practice model, but with the support of an administrative team composed of intake screening, scheduling, front desk, billing, collections, credentialing, and marketing. The management staff is receptive to feedback and supportive of our providers.

  • Providing individual therapy
  • Documenting all sessions and client contacts within 72 hours
